We were extremely proud to receive recognition for our internships and graduate recruitment at the recent Career Impact Awards from the University of Bradford.
The Career Impact Awards are an established and highly regarded part of the employability calendar at the University of Bradford, recognising students and employer partners who actively support career development through placements, internships and real-world professional experiences.
Bridging Education and Employment
Held in the University’s Great Hall, the awards bring together students, academic staff, employer partners and civic leaders to celebrate the role that collaboration plays in bridging education and employment. Over the years, the awards have highlighted partnerships that not only offer work experience, but genuinely help students develop confidence, transferable skills and long-term career prospects.
The 2025 ceremony continued this tradition, celebrating students and organisations who have gone above and beyond to support professional growth. Employers across sectors such as digital, healthcare, energy and community services were recognised for providing meaningful opportunities that allow students to apply their learning in practical, high-impact environments.

Speaking at the event, guest speakers reflected on the transformative effect of placements when students are trusted with real responsibility and supported by experienced teams. The awards were presented by the University’s Vice-Chancellor, Professor Shirley Congdon, reinforcing the importance the University places on employer partnerships that deliver genuine career outcomes.
Day One Technologies was recognised alongside organisations such as Girlington Centre, Swith2Energy, Milan Centre and Simplimedica, were honoured for the skills development and professional confidence gained during their time in industry.
Example Success Story: From Intern to Senior Leader
One story that strongly reflects the spirit of the Career Impact Awards is that of Ioan Floroiu, now our Senior eLearning Developer & Development Lead. Ioan first joined Day One Technologies as an intern in 2018, gaining hands-on experience working on live elearning projects alongside senior developers and instructional designers.
He has since been involved in existing training content, simulation, and learning technology projects for the likes of Amazon, the NHS, Mercedes-Benz, Met Police, and many more UK and global clients. Through mentorship, real responsibility and exposure to complex client work, Ioan progressed into a permanent role and has since become a key leader within our development team.
Ioan’s journey – from intern to senior leader – is exactly the kind of long-term career impact the University of Bradford’s awards aim to celebrate. It reflects our belief that internships should be more than a stepping stone; they should be the foundation for sustainable, rewarding careers.
