Molson Coors is one of the world’s best-known drinks and brewing companies, listed on both the New York and Toronto stock exchanges and part of the S&P 500.
This is a modern, ambitious company that has been extremely dynamic and forward thinking in recent years, demonstrated by numerous mergers and acquisitions. However, some aspects of their training had become dated, relying on face to face classroom environments and static presentations distributed via PDF.
So they called on us at Day One to shake up their training and make it more engaging for thousands of sales professionals across the Europe, Middle East and North Africa region.
Too often, colleagues were leaving face to face training in finance skills for sales with no further opportunity to practise their learning. Molson Coors wanted to create short practice opportunities for their European sales reps.
They wanted the material to be motivating and to enable practice at learners’ own pace. The elearning needed to be SCORM compliant for easy use within their existing LMS.
Molson Coors liked our Learning by Doing approach to elearning, and how we could bring a sense of fun to some quite dry, technical material.
We created work-based arithmetic challenges set in a fun-looking, yet familiar environment with characters, created using isometric graphics. Scenarios were made to be as realistic as possible, mimicking real-life sales situations.
Gamification elements incorporated points and badges, with clear learner feedback to support guided practice and continuous improvement.
Reporting back to their LMS was important, as was automatic scoring and helpful assessment and reporting tools for their Capability team.
